About the Nursery

Melton Primary School Nursery is open from 9am to 3.30pm Monday to Fridays during term time.

  • Morning Nursery Session: 9.00am – 12pm (3 hours)
  • Afternoon Nursery Session: 12.30 – 3.30pm (3 hours)

If your child is staying for the whole day, they can stay in the Nursery for lunch (chargeable)  between 12.00 and 12.30pm.

From January 2022, the Nursery will be able to offer extended provision from 7.45am to 6pm (chargeable).

Nursery places are offered to pre-school children aged 3 years old and 4 years old and commence the term following the child’s 3rd birthday.

15 Hours Free Funded Childcare

All children are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week from the term following their 3rd birthday. Parents can choose how they wish to access their 15 hours (5 x 3 hour sessions) and can select either morning, afternoon or a combination of either.

30 Hours Childcare Eligibility

Eligible 3 & 4 year old children are able to access up to 30 hours of free provision per week. To check if you are eligible for this please click here. Please note that you must apply for this funding the term before your child is due to start Nursery.

Additional Hours

If you would like more than 15 hours but are not eligible for the extended free provision, parents are able to request additional hours.

Additional hours are charged as follows:

  • Morning or afternoon Nursery session: £12
  • Lunchtime: £2

Melton Primary School accepts Childcare Vouchers/Tax-Free Childcare payments.

Joining our Nursery

To apply for your child to join Melton Primary School Nursery, please complete the application form and PAF and return them to the school office with your child’s birth certificate. Please ensure that you read the  Nursery Admissions, Terms and Conditions and the Charging and Remissions Policy before completing the forms.

Parents can submit applications to join Nursery at any time. Children will be offered a place as soon as they are eligible and space is available.
